Despite the existence of an International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights single parents and their families continue to be victims of discrimination in work and earning capacity, health care, social interaction and legal environments and resources.

Lone parent families are at the higher risk of disadvantage and prejudice

The individuals in these families are more susceptible to increased health and other risks including abuse.

Today more than 80% of single parent households have mothers as main or principal carers.

The aim is to provide sustainable solutions for disadvantaged single parents and their families by creating sustainable solutions through the development of opportunities and partnerships.

Through association and partnership, The Single Parent Foundation will seek to –

  • Create Work with enjoyable environments, employment suited to individual personalities and circumstances
  • Raise Funds
  • Host Events for Single Parents and their Children
  • Provide practical assistance
  • Provide avenues for access to health, training and other programs
  • Advocate Reformation
